Rick Martelli is a registered builder with over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. A specialist consultant with broad experience in Project Management of works and extensive knowledge of the Building Code of Australia performance requirements and applicable Australian Standards. He has consulted to the legal fraternity, Industry and Commerce and regularly attends Court jurisdictions as an expert witness. He has worked for the Builders Registration Board and Building Commission of Western Australia as a Building Inspector providing technical services and compliance surveillance, was a previous NatHERS assessor and has an extensive trade background.
A qualified Interior Designer (Diploma of Interior Design & Decorating) with over 20 years’ experience in providing interior design and decorating, product and finishes selections, furniture design, event styling and project management.
We specialise in conducting investigations of building defects such as water ingress, concrete spalling, corrosion and defective workmanship. We can then advise you on the options to rectify the defects. This may include, providing a report detailing the scope of remedial works required and probable order of costs to remedy the defects, prepare Tender documents and specifications, or where the building is less than 6 years old and still under the builders warranty, we can assist you in consulting with the service provider to remedy the defects. When the builder does not remedy the defective works, we can provide an expert witness report to lodge with the Department of Commerce for further adjudication
We are experienced in providing expert witness reports and attending various Court jurisdictions as an expert witness in building defect disputes.
We are bound by the Courts Code of Conduct for expert witnesses to assist the courts and have your building dispute adjudicated without bias.
We can provide a comprehensive 10-year Strata Maintenance report which will detail forward projected maintenance and replacement works required, define the scope of works required and probable order of budgeted costs needed to complete the works.
